Business insurance is a form of risk management in which an insurance policy protects a business by transferring the cost of claim to an insurance company in exchange for monetary compensation known as a "premium".
In the event of a claim, an insurance policy allows individuals and businesses a way of protecting themselves against significant losses and financial hardship at a reasonably affordable rate. The phrase "significant losses" is a key because you would not pay a monthly premium to protect a business against a $50 loss as this would not be considered a financial hardship for most.
There are three types of insurance needed by artisans. They are:
1. Limited Medical Care Access
2. Special Risk Insurance
3. Business and Product Liability Insurance
Currently every member in participating states is covered by Special Risk Insurance and has the option of accessing an optional Limited Medical Benefit Plan. The AAB is working hard to bring every member affordable Business and Product Liability Insurance.
